Getting there & Getting around

Getting there

Bruges' train station (tel: 050 30 24 24) is about 1.5km (.9mi) south of the city centre. There are very frequent trains to Brussels and Ghent. Trains also go to Antwerp, De Panne (change at Lichtervelde), Knokke, Kortrijk, Ostend and Zeebrugge. Eurolines buses to/from the UK and the Netherlands pick up passengers at the train station. Busabout buses also pass through Bruges.

Getting around

A small network of buses operated by De Lijn (tel: 059 56 53 53) covers destinations in and around Bruges. Most depart from De Lijn's information office on the square in front of the train station, and many stop at central stops such as the Markt, Wollestraat and the Biekorf on Kuipersstraat. From the train station, you can also take any bus marked 'Centrum' to get to the centre of town. These buses run from 06:00 until about 23:00.
