yes, the location here was indeed the problem. the hotelstaff is very forthcoming, the rooms areso-so, the shops are nice, but driving to and from the hotel after dark is the scariest experience we've ever had. stay somewhere else(most hotels in beverly hills are in the same pricerange).

Chose the Westin because of it's proximity to everything downtown. Very unusual design with 4cylindrical towers around a center court. Rooms are small but efficiently laid out & the legendary "Westin bed" did not dissappoint. Good restaurants in the area and the breakfast buffet, while not cheap, was excellent. The waiters left a lot to be desired. We watched two of them fight over where guests were seated & then they were less than responsive when they discovered you were ordering the buffet. We would stay again for the right rates. We are planning a trip in May requiring 2 rooms so we'll see

The Bonaventure was a very good hotel for the price it is. I was given an upgrade upon my arrival much to my surprise. The room had a great view and alot of extra toiletries. The hallways leave alot to be desired and could use an upgrade as the rooms all have had. The staff a few times gave us incorrect directions and information on how to get to places so it cost us a fortune in taxis. We expected them to know correct infomation on transportation and locations. Not a safe area to be in the evening though, especially for females out walking. Would definitely stay there again if I needed to be located in Downtown LA though.

Beds are fabulous. Hotel is in downlown L.A.! Parking is $22 a night but well worth the valet and undergound parking! Very fast valets. downside is stores and resturants close ta 9pm. so if you arrive late bring your own bottled water and others basics. 24 hour room service a +! EXCELLANT SERVICE!

Enjoy a pie-shaped room in the funky downtown landmark Bonaventure, which had its heyday with the Japanese tourist boom of the late 80's. However, it's done a reasonably good job of keeping up with the times--rooms are all you would expect from an upscale business hotel chain (shape aside). Lots of unexpected amenities, including an indoor running trail. Shopping in the integral mall has gone downhill during the Japanese financial bust, but there are lots of interesting dining choices, including a real brewpub and several offbeat Asian places. It may seem corny, but don't miss the signature drink (served in a Bonaventure-shaped container, of course) in the revolving bar that crowns the building. Spectacular mountain-to-sea views. Convenient location adjacent to freeways or within walking distance of downtown sites and dining.

For our trip to LA, The Westin Bonaventure Hotel was conveniently amid Los Angeles' cultural and shopping venues. We enjoyed dinner one noght at the rooftop steakhouse, L.A Prime, boasts a great view of LA. Our king room was spacious, sumptuous and well-appointed.
